Valentine's Day Gift Ideas
Ahhh Valentine’s Day, it’s one of our favourite times of the year. For us as a flower and thoughtful gifting company that is. We’re planning for this day just like Santa and his elves are, we live and breathe for this day. You see, behind the scenes, there’s love. There’s love packing your orders, love reading the beautiful notes and laughter and love at the hilarious personalised jar messages. Cue, our favourite “you have exquisite tits” or “Vicki, love your bum”. Simple, cheeky and fun.

Injecting a bit of personality into your gifts never fails to impress the one receiving it. Remember when Monica declared her love to Chandler by dancing with a turkey on her head? Iconic. And with that, we bring you our Valentine’s Day gift and date ideas for a rundown of the most personal and memorable gifts you can give this February 14th.

Fish and chips by the sea

Who doesn’t love this idea? Lucky for us in Australia, Valentine’s Day falls in summer. So, whether it's your first Valentine's day together or you've been with your husband / wife / significant other for ages, ordering fish and chips on the beach (let’s not forget dim sims, potato cakes and tomato sauce), is really an affordable, no-fuss way to show someone you love them. To make it extra cute, make it Pinterest-worthy. We’re talking a gorgeous throw, cushions, picnic basket, the works.

Share the LVLY

Flowers are such a beautiful way to express your love. But don’t stop there. There’s so many gifting options from Australia’s favourite online florist (that's us!) and the best part is, we deliver same-day!
A personalised gift for him or her just shows you’ve taken a little extra care and love. It’s a keepsake they can hang on to long after the flowers have dried and it’s a way to put the biggest smile on their face when they unbox your gift.  We’ve seen everything on our flower jars, from raunchy one liners to the sweetest messages to inside jokes and even marriage proposals. Valentine's Day gift idea, sorted!

We've also just launched a 'cute as' new collab with bright and bold designer, Luke John Matthew Arnold. There are two flower jars, one that says ‘I just f*cking love you and the other ‘You’re cute as’.  Aside from having the coolest name, Luke’s illustrations share an ethos of equality and inclusivity. He has a way of saying what we want to say, in the most beautiful and effortless way. His proudest moment so far is lending his artwork to the Australian Marriage Equality campaign. We’re absolutely in love with this collab and the best part is, your loved one gets to keep the jar as a keepsake, long after the flowers have dried.

Say it with words

Remember that scene from Love Actually. Almost as memorable as Monica’s turkey dance. But something about it has really stood the test of time against all other movies. It was the words ‘To me you are perfect’ that made us all fall in love with this scene. It’s a reminder to tell your bestie, your mum, your lover, the cutie at the coffee shop you see every day… just tell them how much they mean to you. Whether it’s a simple gesture or a huge romantic display of love, we’re here for it. For us, love always wins.

A good old fashioned movie date

Valentine's Day doesn't have to mean expensive, luxury gifts. I mean who doesn’t love a good old fashioned movie. Or an independent cinema with a rooftop? Or a moonlight sanctuary cinema, or a drive through? Better yet, create your own outdoor cinema and give them a portable outdoor cinema package! Imagine your husband / wife / bestie's face when you set up the lights, the lanterns, the rug, the cheese platter, in your very own backyard. What a vibe.

A cooking class

Cooking classes are so fun. So many opportunities to be flirty and fun and throw spaghetti at each other. It’s all a bit cute. They’re also great because you get to eat what you cook, so kind of two dates in one. If cooking isn’t really their jam (sorry terrible pun), or if you think maybe they’ll be suss that you’re trying to pass on a subtle hint to improve their culinary skills, a cookbook for the restaurant you’re taking them to may be a better option. Mabu Mabu have released an amazing Australian Kitchen Cookbook and opened their new restaurant in Fed Square, Melbourne.
